Pecan Pie Muffins.... yummy!

Hey yall! I just wanted to pop in this afternoon and share this yummy recipe with everyone!
Pecan Pie Muffins! Yall these are scrumptious! And so simple to make. I love having these ready for gifting and ready for a late night snack! The recipe makes 1 dozen.

Pecan Pie Muffins
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup All Purpose flour
2/3 cup butter, softened ( I like to use real butter, salted)
2 eggs beaten
2 cups chopped pecans ( or Walnuts!)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sugar and flour and mix well. Add in pecans and toss well, then add softened butter and eggs. Stir until well blended. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 15 - 18 mins or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. ( I had to bake mine for almost 20 minutes.) Let cool or slather with butter while still hot and enjoy! :)
They are also yummy when cooled.
Enjoy!

Hey everyone! You guys sure do know how to PARTY! Thank you so much for all the visiting around to my followers, facebook and especially Aurifil, our sponsor!  I know yall are anxious to see who won the Aurifil thread boxes, so let's get straight to it!

The winner of the 12 wt box of variegated "Prism"  is:
#221. lalaluuDecember 8, 2014 at 1:03 PM
I visited http://thebuttryandbookry.blogspot.com/. She had made a trip to The Bennington Museum in Vermont (a state I haven't visited yet!), and has LOTS of amazing pictures (including the original Dear Jane quilt, an intriguing driftwood statue, and the early autumn countryside) as well as a visit to a neat used bookstore. I left a comment because I wanted to thank her for the great pictures!

And the winner of the gorgeous box of " Springtime Roses " is :
I stopped by Aurifil and said hi (I already follow them on Facebook). Thanks!

Woohoo! Congratulations winners! Please email me your mailing addresses and I will get these shipped out to both of you!
Yall, I would like to say a great big THANK YOU to Aurifil for making this giveaway possible! They really are a very generous and caring company and offer alot of support to our sewing and crafting community! I really love using their threads. I love the 50 wt for hand and machine piecing. I have also used the 12, 28 and 40 wts for machine quilting! And the Aurifloss for embroidery! I love Aurifloss! There are 270 colors of gorgeous 6 strand floss!! You can use it as a single strand or it can be separated for various thicknesses. And it comes on a cute little WOODEN spool! How cute is that?

I LOVE the variegated! I am definitely asking Santa for some Aurifil in my stocking! Aurifil has an interactive map of where to purchase their threads here! And you can check your local quilt shops! I purchase mine online since I do not have a local quilt shop. And right now The Intrepid Thread and The Fat Quarter Shop has Aurifil on sale! Woohoo! Time to stock up!
Thank you EVERYONE for all your kind and sweet comments! I hope you had fun and had the opportunity to meet some fun and exciting new friends! Watch this space, there just might be another giveaway coming up ! :) (wink)
WELCOME to all my new friends and followers!
Happy Stitching yall!

Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!

EDIT: This giveaway is now closed! Winners will be announced 12/14/2014. Thank you everyone for entering. I hope you had fun and found some new and inspiring friends and blogs to follow! xo jan

Hi everyone! Welcome to my stop on theSew Mama Sew giveaway day!  And welcome to the farm! If this is your first visit here, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Jan and I am a farmer's wife living on a wee farm in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains with my darling farmer husband. He sows while I sew! We have lots and lots of cows, chickens, cats and dogs. Currently I have been bottle feeding orphan twin calves!
Needless to say, these two characters haven't left me much time for sewing lately. We spent the summer in the hay fields and hopefully we will soon be gathering our corn. I was finding less and less time at my sewing machine so I took up English Paper Piecing. I really didn't think I could hand sew ANYTHING, but I soon learned it is ALOT easier than it looks. I am particularly fond of Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses blocks which use the traditional Church Window or honeycomb shape.
I LOVE fussy cutting these blocks. They are so much fun. Last year I started the "I Love Lucy International Bee" and I made the above block for a Bee mate. Black/gray with a pop of color was her request for her blocks! It was so much fun to make.

These are the blocks that I received from my Bee mates (with a couple of my blocks). I just love them. I chose soft florals for my blocks! These are so addicting to make. Especially all the fussy cutting. To share my love of sewing, I started a little quilt shop called "Featherweight Quilt Company". It has been so much fun sharing my designs with others. I sell block kits with the paper pieces to get you started on making your own blocks. It is a fun and easy way to learn the technique and to learn fussy cutting these adorable blocks. I also offer fat quarter bundles and other notions.
I firmly believe in having the right tool for the job. I use Aurifil 50 wt thread for all my hand piecing and machine sewing!. Aurifil has an 18 step process to produce their threads . Aurifil is a gorgeous thread with beautiful colors and a nice sheen. I love that it is very thin yet extremely strong. It doesn't tangle when hand sewing. Nor does it fray from running against my paper templates in English paper piecing! And the 50 wt seems to just melt into the fabric. The colors are just so rich and blend perfectly!

So I thought for this fun giveaway I would love to offer my favorite tool for sewing: Aurifil thread!
Aurifil is so supportive of our sewing and crafting community! When I contacted them about a giveaway they offered not one but two thread sets! So here we go:
Up first is a gorgeous Aurifil10 spool set of 12wt variegated thread : "Prism" designed by Michele Scott:

Ooh la la! look at all the gorgeous colors! And in 12 wt! I used Aurifil 12 wt in my machine this summer on a sewing machine cover! My little machine loved the 12 wt! I set my machine stitch length to 5. The longest length that it offers. I used 50 wt in the bobbin. I also think 40 wt would work great in the bobbin with the 12 wt!

Secondly, we have an Aurifil 12 large spool collection of " Springtime Roses in 40wt!!!! Woot! Woot!!

Wowzers! These colors are absolutely gorgeous! Springtime Roses is the perfect name for this Aurifil collection from Elizabeth Phillips and Lyn Kenny!
